West Bloomfield — Several former NBA stars have disparaged the Golden State Warriors and back-to-back league MVP Stephen Curry during their record-setting season.
Former Pistons star Dave Bing, a Hall of Famer who played in the NBA from 1966-78, offered rare praise for Curry on Monday.
“He is absolutely the best shooter that has played in the game,” Bing said before the Charlies Sanders charity golf outing. “Nobody’s close — except his teammate (Klay Thompson).”
Reminded that few former players offer such glowing reviews of Curry, Bing said, “I love him.”
The only player Bing said might compare to Curry is Larry Bird while Curry’s ball-handling keeps him ahead of Thompson.
