AUBURN HILLS - Many athletic big men are projected to be taken in the same range at next Thursday's NBA draft.
Two of them, Jarrett Allen of Texas and Justin Patton of Creighton, worked out for the Detroit Pistons Thursday, as they continue trying to separate themselves from the pack.
Most mock drafts have both players going midway through the first round, likely to be available for the Pistons at No. 12.
The 6-foot-11, 235-pound Allen is agile, with a 7-6 wingspan and good touch around the rim. He averaged 13.4 points and 8.4 rebounds in his lone season with the Longhorns.
