The Pistons have just two unrestricted free agents among their 15-man roster and bring back all five starters and two of the four players who ended the season as part of the regular bench unit. That’s another way of saying there aren’t an overwhelming number of job openings for Stan Van Gundy’s 2016-17 roster.
But Van Gundy is mining every possible avenue for filling the few roster spots the Pistons will have. In addition to the more conventional routes of the draft and free agency, the Pistons are in the midst of hosting a three-day camp for players whose rights belong to no NBA team.
