The preseason optimism that swept over Detroit Pistons fans everywhere was swept away as quickly as it settled.
It hasn’t been an ideal start to the season, sitting at 4-9. Even with the injuries to Blake Griffin and Reggie Jackson that left the Pistons without two starters for eight of the first 13 games, it feels like the Pistons have left some games on the table.
But there’s no getting them back.
For good reason, optimism raised as Detroit, with limited cap space, signed Derrick Rose to be an upgrade at backup point guard, Markieff Morris as a legitimate backup power forward and traded for 3-and-D wing Tony Snell.
