2nd straight night the 2nd half unkind to Pistons in loss at Utah

FAST BREAKDOWN

Three quick observations from Friday night’s 110-77 loss to the Utah Jazz at Vivint Smart Home Arena

SLAM DUNK – The Pistons recovered from a dismal first-quarter offensive start, not so much when it happened again to start the third quarter. Motivated in part by matchup considerations with Utah, Stan Van Gundy went off the books with his starting lineup. Down two starters – in addition to Jon Leuer (right knee bone bruise), who missed his third straight game, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope was out with a strained left rotator cuff suffered in Thursday’s loss at Golden State – Van Gundy went with Aron Baynes at power forward, bumping Tobias Harris to small forward and Marcus Morris to shooting guard.
