Pistons get creative after striking out in free agency, trade picks to help Suns clear cap space.
The Detroit Pistons have traded a 2020 second-round pick to the Phoenix Suns for small forwards Marcus Morris, Danny Granger and Reggie Bullock, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo!
The Pistons had enough salary cap space to absorb the contracts from the Suns without sending back players.
Detroit was forced to explore alternative means to fill a big vacancy at small forward after missing out on unrestricted free agents DeMarre Carroll and Danny Green. Morris will help fill that gap and Granger can serve as well, though he'd likely slot in behind rookie Stanley Johnson.
