When the Detroit Pistons landed coach Monty Williams, it may have changed their outlook for the offseason.
They may be more inclined to try and make a big trade to land a player who is ready to contribute now rather than adding two more rookies to a roster that already has a lot of young talent. Hiring Williams doesn’t necessarily mean they are going to make such a trade, but Troy Weaver was already under some pressure to build a competitive roster and that hasn’t changed.
