In a breaking Pistons news update on the first day of the 2014 NBA free agency period, the Detroit Pistons have agreed to deals with former Lakers guard Jodie Meeks and former Hawks forward Cartier Martin.
Here's Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski with the announcement and details on Meeks' multi-year contract:

With outside shooting (and shooting in general) being targeted as a major need by new Pistons coach/president of basketball operations Stan Van Gundy, Meeks may come as a solid coup for the team after he averaged a career-high 15.7 points per game along with shooting 40.1 percent from downtown.
Martin gives the Pistons some rotation depth in the frontcourt, although he stands to sit in the eight or nine slot on Van Gundy's depth chart at best.
Terms of Martin's contract have not been initially disclosed.
