Would Detroit Lions have drafted Drew Lock if Denver didn't trade up for rookie QB?

When the Denver Broncos moved up 10 spots in the second round of April's draft to take Missouri quarterback Drew Lock, they jumped suspiciously in front of the Detroit Lions in the draft order.

The Lions spent the pre-draft process turning over rocks locking for backup quarterbacks, and they traveled to Missouri late in the process for a one-on-one meeting with Lock.

But Broncos coach Vic Fangio said in a conference call Wednesday that his team's decision to move ahead of the Lions wasn't based on any intel that Detroit was about to draft its preferred target.
