ST. LOUIS -- The Detroit Lions are out of contention for essentially everything except a potential top 10 draft pick in 2016.

Playoffs? No shot. A winning or .500 record? That’s gone, too.

So the Lions should use the final three games of the season to look at the younger players on the roster to see if they can contribute. But it may not happen considering Sheldon White remains the team’s general manager on an interim basis and coach Jim Caldwell’s job security is in question.
