T.J. Hockenson’s NFL career took off like a rocket when he had six catches for 131 yards and a touchdown in the Detroit Lions' season opener.
Then his career kind of fell back to Earth like a spent rocket booster. He had only one more touchdown and no more than 56 receiving yards in any of his next nine games.
That doesn’t mean the Lions' rookie tight end hasn’t remained effective as a blocker or passing target while the offensive game plan has varied some weeks.
