Why Detroit Lions could see major turnover on special teams

They’ve had one of the best, most stable special teams batteries in the NFL for the last six years, but with free agency a little less than two weeks away, the future of the Detroit Lions’ snap-kick-punt triumvirate is on the verge of breaking up.

Kicker Matt Prater remains under contract for one more season, but punter Sam Martin and long snapper Don Muhlbach will be unrestricted free agents March 18 and the Lions already have their potential replacements in-house.
