With their first two selections in the 2017 NFL Draft, the Detroit Lions opted to address the defensive side of the ball with two prospects from Florida in linebacker Jarrad Davis and cornerback Teez Tabor.
In the third round, the Lions’ somewhat surprisingly drafted North Illinois wide receiver Kenny Golladay 96th overall. The 6-foot-4, 213 pound prospect is expected to win the third wide receiver spot on the depth chart behind starters Golden Tate and Marvin Jones Jr.
According to one Lions’ insider, the 23-year old receiver actually stood out the most among all their rookies this offseason.
