At the Detroit Lions’ kickoff luncheon in August, I heard safety Glover Quin say “sometimes you’ve got to knock out the bully.” He was talking about the Green Bay Packers, who have terrorized the halls of the NFC North for a long time, pushing people over, taking their lunch money and giving them wedgies.
I was glad Quin made the declaration, that he took a stand.
And when the bully was sent to the principal’s office for the year because of Aaron Rodgers’ shoulder injury, it looked like the Lions might actually have a fighting chance to win the division.
