ALLEN PARK -- A day after the Detroit Lions decided to sit embattled running back Ameer Abdullah, Jim Caldwell offered no clarity about the decision or what it could mean for his future.
On the one hand, Caldwell insisted the decision was related to the neck injury that kept him out the previous week in Baltimore.
"Ameer is health issues," Caldwell said. "Hopefully he'll be all right this week."
But when asked directly about reports saying the running back was actually healthy enough to play, but Detroit preferred to roll with Theo Riddick, Zach Zenner and Tion Green instead, he demurred.
