As usual, the Detroit Lions season has ended without so much as a whimper. This means, as usual, this franchise is home licking their wounds trying to figure out how they can make next season end differently.
There are plenty of big decisions for general manager Bob Quinn and Matt Patricia to make. The majority of which are on the defensive side of the ball.
Matt Patricia rode into town hailed as a defensive guru, but after his first season at the helm in 2018 when Detroit finished with the number 10 overall defense in the NFL, they plummeted to or near the bottom of the league in almost every defensive category this season.
