While Lions veterans were free to start their summer break last Thursday, the team's rookies stuck around for the Lions' annual rookie training week.
Rookies learned off-the-field skills ranging from personal grooming to golf etiquette. Instructors from Scarlet Communications visited the Lions practice facility to teach players how to tie ties, dress for formal events, pick out jewelry and covered etiquette on the golf course as well as in an upscale restaurant.
The classes were arranged and supervised by Lions senior director of player development Galen Duncan and this year marked the fourth season that the team has provided the off-the-field training for its rookies.
