The Detroit Lions have a rare opportunity on Sunday. Following their Week 5 win over the Green Bay Packers, Detroit could potentially sweep the team that has foiled their best chances to win the division multiple times in recent memory.
The Lions were able to sweep the Packers last year, but it came with a pretty big asterisk: Both times the two teams played, Aaron Rodgers was sidelined with his shoulder injury.
Of course, a sweep this year would come with a pretty significant caveat as well. This Week 17 finale won’t mean much to either team and both franchises have already ended the seasons of players that probably could have played had there been anything tangible on the line.
