EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- Minnesota Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen said he went to Hennepin County Medical Center on Sunday for tests after the Vikings ruled him inactive for their game against the Kansas City Chiefs. But Griffen said he'll return to practice Thursday, and is "100 percent" confident he'll play Sunday against the Lions in Detroit.
A league source told ESPN on Wednesday that Griffen received precautionary heart-related tests, but added Griffen did not have an irregular heartbeat and hadn't dealt with heart issues before.
Griffen said he felt sick before the game, but added he was discharged quickly enough to be home for the final five minutes of the Vikings' win.
