The Detroit Lions will be inducting their 19th member to the team’s Ring of Honor, the Pride of the Lions, legendary linebacker Chris Spielman.
Spielman, currently the team’s Special Assistant to President/CEO and Chairperson, will be honored during halftime of the Lions home game against the Philadelphia Eagles on October 31. His name will be on permanent display at Ford Field as part of the team’s efforts to honor the greatest players in franchise history.
The team announced the news to him in a very creative, heartfelt manner, and his genuine reaction is one of the best things you will get to see all year:
“Anytime you are recognized for an individual award, as a part of a team-oriented pursuit, your immediate thoughts go to your family, teammates, coaches and all of the people in the organization,” Spielman said about his induction.
