It’s sacrilege to refer to any NFL running back as “Barry Sanders-esque” regardless of whether he plays for the Detroit Lions or any other team. There is—and will only ever be—one Barry Sanders.
Buuuuuuuuuuuuuut... it’s pretty hard to deny the resemblance of this one particular play from the Lions’ 52-6 beatdown of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
On the play, Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs is a yard away from the goal line, but he encounters a ton of traffic on what was supposed to be a relatively simple run up the middle. He’s able to escape the the defenders crashing down with a savvy spin move.
