ALLEN PARK -- After a short stint in the doghouse, Ameer Abdullah is starting to put it all together. The Detroit Lions rookie running back has topped his season-high for rushing yards in back-to-back games, going for 67 yards on 13 carries against the Green Bay Packers on Thursday.
More importantly, Abdullah hasn't fumbled in six straight contests after some ball security issues to start the season.
"He's getting better," coach Jim Caldwell said on Monday. "He's maturing."
But when the Lions had an opportunity to salt away a victory against the Packers, the team turned to Joique Bell during its final offensive series.
