The Detroit Lions have traded with the Cleveland Browns and acquired Za’Darius Smith and a 2026 draft pick in exchange for two draft picks, one in 2025 and another in 2026. The Browns reportedly were pushing for a fourth-round draft pick but Lions general manager Brad Holmes waited them out and got a better deal for his franchise.
Here’s the terms of the trade:
Lions get:
- DE Za’Darius Smith
- 7th round pick in 2026
Browns get:
- 5th round pick in 2025
- 6th round pick in 2026
The Lions have been very active with their 2025 draft capital as they make a run toward the Super Bowl, trading away four draft picks and acquiring two in the last seven months.
