ALLEN PARK, Mich. – It started out so well for Marvin Jones. He was leading the NFL in receiving. He had a 200-yard game against the Green Bay Packers and looked to be even better than the Detroit Lions could have hoped as the franchise tried to replace now-Dancing Calvin Johnson.
Teams had never seen Jones as a No. 1 receiver before since he had spent the first four years of his career somewhat in the background behind A.J. Green, the Cincinnati Bengals clear top receiver. This, it appeared, was Jones breaking out.
