DETROIT -- Tyrunn Walker will go to meetings Friday. He’ll get his final instructions from the Detroit Lions coaching staff for his last free weekend for a few months and then he’ll plan on heading to the airport to board a plane.

While the Lions starters potentially disperse around the country this weekend as teams make their cuts to initial 53-man rosters, Walker will be heading home to New Iberia, Louisiana to spend the weekend helping out his flood-ravaged hometown.

He and New York Giants defensive lineman Damon “Snacks” Harrison have been planning this for more than a week now, ever since they saw and heard about the flooding that damaged the place they grew up.
