Bob Quinn addressed a major position of need for the Detroit Lions with two familiar faces.
Bolstering the defensive tackle position was certainly a priority with starters Haloti Ngata and Tyrunn Walker set to become unrestricted free agents, but Quinn was able to re-up with Walker last week, and agree to terms on a new deal with Ngata on the first day of free agency Wednesday.
After getting over some nagging injuries to begin the 2015 season, Ngata proved to be a force in the middle of Teryl Austin’s defense the second half of the year. He recorded 13 quarterback hurries over the last eight weeks, which ranked 10th among interior defensive lineman in the NFL.
