The Detroit Lions and wide receiver Ryan Broyles are going their separate ways.
After three-plus years with the team, Broyles will be part of the first round of cuts that trims the roster down to an NFL-mandated 75 players.
The 2012 second-round draft pick tweeted a note this morning thanking the organization, his coaches and the City of Detroit.
“When one door of happiness closes, another opens," he wrote. “Thank you Detroit.”

Broyles played in just 21 games in three injury-riddled seasons in Detroit and it became clear in the preseason he wasn’t going to be a big part of the team's plans this season.
