With their initial 53-man roster set, the Detroit Lions went to work Sunday putting together their 10-man practice squad.
A player is eligible for the practice squad if he does not have an accrued season in the NFL, although the NFL has now approved a maximum of two spots on the practice squad for players with no more than two accrued seasons. To have an accrued season, you have to be active for at least six regular-season games.
Practice squad players make a minimum of $6,600 per week, or $112,000 if they’re on the squad all 17 weeks of the regular season.
