The Detroit Lions are moving on without Stephen Tulloch.
The middle linebacker posted a thank-you message on Instagram this evening after the Lions informed Tulloch that they would cut him at the start of the new league year next month.
Tulloch was due $6 million this fall, including a $500,000 bonus. He'll still count $1.3 million against the Lions' salary cap for 2016.
Tulloch had been with the Lions since 2011, when he led the Lions to their first postseason berth since 1999. He recorded more than 100 tackles in four of his five seasons in Detroit; the only year he didn't, in 2014, he missed most of the season with a torn ACL.
