ALLEN PARK -- The Detroit Lions' fourth straight day of practice took an eventful turn when a vicious thunderstorm swept through Southwest Michigan. The team tried to finish off the practice outdoors, even as lightning lit up the sky, before a downpour forced everyone to scramble inside.
Here are some observations from the practice.
-- Detroit worked the red-zone drills hard on Wednesday. Matthew Stafford looked good, especially when he was throwing to Marvin Jones. Say what you will about Jones -- and there's a lot to say, especially of his disappearance act down the stretch last season -- but the man has as good of footwork along the sideline as anybody.
