ALLEN PARK -- The Detroit Lions returned to practice Friday after taking a day off. Here are a few observations from the practice, their first morning session of camp.
-- At the start of the offseason, I thought receiver Jace Billingsley had a good chance to make the team. Now, I'm not so sure. Golden Tate, Marvin Jones and Kenny Golladay are locked into roster spots, and TJ Jones continues to rep with the first team. Even Jared Abbrederis has made more plays than Billingsley, including torching Teez Tabor for two long touchdowns, the latter of which caused Tabor's eyes to roll into the back of his head.
