Trade to Patriots ‘a blessing’ for ex-Lion Van Noy

Bloomington, Minn. — You hear it all the time in professional sports, the value of a change of scenery. Sometimes that’s all it takes for a talented player who was a bad fit with one team to unlock their potential.

That’s exactly what happened with linebacker Kyle Van Noy.

A second-round pick by the Detroit Lions in 2014, the former BYU linebacker struggled to port to his playmaking ability to the professional ranks. After two seasons plagued by injuries, Van Noy reported to training camp in the best shape of his life in 2015 and started the first seven games for the Lions.
