The Detroit Lions never retired the No. 88 jersey.
Forgettable wide receivers Scotty Anderson and Reggie Swinton wore it in the early 2000s, and the team gave it to Mike Williams after they drafted him 10th overall in 2005, one pick ahead of Demarcus Ware.
But for the last decade or so, since Williams' career in Detroit ended after the 2006 season, no Lions player has worn the No. 88 that fit Hall of Famer Charlie Sanders so well.
