WATFORD, England – In the biggest move Jim Caldwell has made since becoming head coach of the Lions, there will be new leadership on the offensive coaching staff when practice begins this week to face the Kansas City Chiefs at Wembley on Sunday.
Before leaving Detroit Monday, Caldwell fired offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi and the two assistants who coached the offensive line – Jeremiah Washburn and his assistant, Terry Heffernan.
The vacancies were filled from within. Quarterbacks coach Jim Bob Cooter was promoted to offensive coordinator.
