For the majority of teams, Thursday marks the opening day of the 2018 preseason. Twelve different games will take place on Thursday night, while four others—including the Detroit Lions vs. the Oakland Raiders—will finish off Week 1 of the preseason over the following two days.
It’s an exciting couple of days for every fanbase around the league, but that excitement has its limits during the preseason. For many, that excitement wears off around the seven-minute mark in the second quarter, when the starters are long gone from the game and the quality of play has clearly lowered on the field.
