The Lions are working out a running back despite already having four

ALLEN PARK -- The Lions went deep at running back this year, choosing to keep four of them in addition to a fullback when having to pare down the roster to 53 men this weekend.

Backs make up nearly 10 percent of the roster, and with the additions of LeGarrette Blount and Kerryon Johnson, it suddenly looks like a position of strength.

And yet the Lions are working out another running back on the first practice out of roster decisions. They are taking a look at former Eagles back Donnel Pumphrey, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on Twitter.
