The Lions are building their new-look passing game in the rain

ALLEN PARK -- The Lions are holding their second practice in the post-Golden Tate era, of trying to build a passing game without one of its most central figures.

On Thursday, they're choosing to do so in a sizeable amount of rain. They spent the session outdoors, something they have done in all but one practice so far under Matt Patricia. They did so despite the fact that they'll play the Vikings indoors this week at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.

Patricia likes to have practices outdoors and in the elements, and he doesn't tend to change that based on whether the elements will match the ones coming up on game day.
