If the Detroit Lions are to become serious contenders for the 2020 NFL season they’re going to need to fill plenty of needs this offseason via free agency and the draft.
Perhaps the three biggest needs are widely seen as cornerback, edge rusher, and a starting-caliber offensive guard. There are even plenty of people who see quarterback as a top-five need.
That brings me to my first point. The absolutely most overrated need for the Lions right now is quarterback. There is no reason to use a top-three pick on a quarterback when your own quarterback performed well prior to injury in 2019 and when the current regime is definitely on the hot seat.
