Allen Park — The Lions started making transactions Saturday morning with the 4 p.m. deadline for 53-man rosters quickly approaching.
Among the players waived were tight end Joseph Fauria, quarterback Kellen Moore and wide receiver Greg Salas. ESPN reported the cuts of Fauria, who became expendable after the Lions traded for tight end Tim Wright this week, and Moore.
The Lions also waived guard Al Bond, safety Brian Suite and tight end Casey Pierce, all of whom were undrafted rookies. NFL Networked reported the release of cornerback Crezdon Butler, too.
With 75 players on the active roster as of Friday, the Lions will have to make at least 22 transactions Saturday.
