Allen Park — Growing up in Vandalia, Ohio, Taylor Decker was just 70 miles west of Columbus. Naturally, his dream was to play for the Buckeyes.
During his introductory news conference, though, Decker said he’s looking forward to continuing his football career closer to the home of that team up north — Michigan. After fulfilling that dream, the offensive tackle had another lifelong ambition fulfilled on Thursday when the Lions drafted him in the first round. The only hiccup, of course, is that Decker will be moving to the state he grew up considering a bitter rival.
