Did the risk pay off? Mike Williams had not played football in a year after trying to declare for the NFL draft after his sophomore season when a federal judge briefly allowed true sophomores to declare for the draft. The ruling was overturned, and since Williams had hired an agent, he was deemed ineligible by the NCAA and had to sit out all of 2004.
