Linebacker Tahir Whitehead reached an agreement Thursday to remain with the Detroit Lions.
NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported Whitehead would be re-signing with the Lions, adding the linebacker is expected to receive a two-year deal valued at more than $8 million. Whitehead took to Instagram to confirm the deal was done:
I want to take the time to thank the Ford family and the entire @detroitlionsnfl organization for bringing me back. Extremely excited for the 2016 season. #RestoreTheRoar #OnePride #extremlyblessed
Whitehead was a fifth-round pick of the Lions in 2012.
