After firing six of their coaches before the new year, the Lions have finally started to make new hires. On Saturday, the team announced the hiring of Brayden Coombs as special teams coordinator. Coombs previously worked for the Bengals in multiple roles, but most recently as an assistant special teams coordinator.
Coombs spent 10 seasons with the Bengals and first joined their staff in 2009 at 23 years old as a coaching intern. Now that the Lions have their special teams coordinator, only defensive coordinator remains, in terms of significant offseason hires.
