SAN FRANCISCO -- Steve Young sees a little bit of himself in Matthew Stafford - his carefree, disheveled self.
"I actually know him only through Van Heusen," Young said of the menswear company both he and Stafford promoted in recent years. "He was a Van Heusen guy with Jerry (Rice) and I one year. And it reminded me because he showed up and I used to wear sweatpants and whatever was atop of the T-shrit pile. I mean, it was a joke. I combed my hair with a pork chop. I mean, it was rough.
"And Matthew shows up to do the Van Heusen stuff and it was like, 'Oh my gosh, I’m seeing myself again.
