PHOENIX — I'm not entirely sure how it happened, though I do know the good folks at Pride of Detroit are to blame.
No matter the genesis, the song "Africa" by the 1980s rock band Toto has become sort of the unofficial theme song of the Detroit Lions.
The song won the in-game fan voting for song of the week during every home game last season at Ford Field, and that triggered an underground movement to have the group perform at the Lions' annual Thanksgiving game.
