Last week was a rough one for the Detroit Lions. As evidenced by the huge amount of players missing from Sunday’s practice, the pair of physical joint practices with the New York Giants combined with the injuries sustained in the preseason opener has left the Lions with a shorthanded roster. At least three players sustained long-term injuries (Emmanuel Moseley, Nate Lynn, Connor Galvin) and a handful of others have been out since joint practices.
With that tough string of injuries, I’ve seen some fans wonder if joint practices have outlived their usefulness.
