Another diversionary tactic, momentarily appeasing the perennially disgruntled. The team’s concession in offering a part-time professional dance team for Ford Field game days after years of public complaint comes across initially as a new hierarchy that’s actually listening to the fans. It offers another example of Martha Ford running the team a little differently than her late husband. She’s not tone deaf. She’s open to ideas that she perhaps vociferously fought against previously.
But what is this? The 1980s?
Why should anyone care about the presence of cheerleaders in this age of the smartphone and personalized entertainment?
