Sean Payton insists it wasn't a motivational ploy, and he'll happily foot the bill.
But the New Orleans Saints coach had heard enough of the fire alarm hours before his team's game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.
So he smashed it.

And then the Saints (8-1) went out and crushed the Bengals, 51-14.
