Ron Thompson, Carl Nassib could be DEs to watch for Lions at combine

It won’t be a pressing need for the Detroit Lions, like the issues the franchise has at defensive tackle and offensive tackle, but the team could consider taking a defensive end at some point during the 2016 NFL draft.

One of the team’s starting ends, Jason Jones, is headed toward free agency, as is his primary backup, Darryl Tapp. While it’s possible one or both could re-sign with Detroit – Tapp is a good possibility as a veteran leader who is universally liked – it is a position the team needs to address.
