ALLEN PARK -- Remember Ricky Jean Francois?
He's the former Patriots defensive tackle who visited with Detroit back in March. There were some pretty serious negotiations, too. He was even quoted by Yahoo! Sports as saying he would be signing with the team.
Then he walked back that report by calling it "fake news."
Sure enough, Francois never did sign with the Lions. In fact, he didn't sign with anybody. Now with training camp set to open on Friday, it seems Detroit still has interest in the defensive tackle.
NFL Network is reporting Detroit hosted Francois on another free-agent visit Wednesday, just one day before veterans were slated to arrive for the start of camp.
